A quick recap of the work, progress, and community moments shaping Somers each week.
As the week comes to a close, here’s a look at some of the work taking place across our town — from decisions at Town Hall to progress on community projects and events happening around Somers.
• The Town Board approved a Master Plan proposal for the 15-acre Angle Fly Preserve parcel, a planning initiative supported through grant funding.
• April Town Board meetings have been adjusted in observance of Passover. Meetings will now take place on April 9 and April 16.
• Planning continues for restoration work at the historic Elephant Hotel, supported through grant funding to help preserve one of Somers’ most recognizable landmarks.
• This week our community said goodbye to Thelma Barlow, a longtime resident who touched many lives in Somers. Friends and neighbors gathered to honor her memory. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones.
