Clarification Regarding Lincoln Hall WARN Filing

March 3, 2026

On January 6, 2026, Lincoln Hall filed a notice under the New York State Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.

The notice states that Lincoln Hall may be in the position of closing programming and operations as a result of the end of its contract with the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). The document identifies the expiration of that federal contract as the cause of the anticipated reduction in force.

The notice outlines two phases of potential job eliminations:

• April 6, 2026

• June 30, 2026

The filing classifies the action as a "plant closing" and states the closure is expected to be permanent. Those classifications are part of the required WARN disclosure when an employer anticipates a qualifying reduction tied to a contract ending.

The WARN notice does not cite financial insolvency, regulatory enforcement, or any action bythe Town of Somers as the cause.

Lincoln Hall has indicated that fewer than ten employees have left since the notice was issued, and those departures were voluntary.

Lincoln Hall is a privately operated nonprofit organization.

Decisions regarding ORR contracts and placements are made at the federal level.

Additional updates will be shared if official information changes.
